Henry Moore’s sculpture called Nuclear Energy commemorates the the first sustainable nuclear fission reaction also called the Chicago Pile (CP).
Kochi is trying to become Chicago’s sister city and to accomplish this they had sent some bright,young students including wunderkid Thomas masun to Chicago to meet the mayor of Chicago who had invited them. There was a function at the Univ of Chicago and while Thomas was near the old stadium,the FM channel in his mobile started playing on its own. Then his tour guide chuckled and whispered-“Radio-activity”. It was there that young Thomas saw Henry Moore’s Nuclear Energy which was erected to commemorate the site of the First Self Sustaining Nuclear Reaction.
